My most sincere apology to the readers of this column for the mistake committed in the title of the article published in the Amandala on Friday, October 22, 2021, under the heading: “Chichanha — Last Inca Settlement”. What I meant to say was, “Chichanha became the last population inhabited by the Itzas.” Before I continue with the Itzas, many people from the streets have been saying to me that they admire the decision made by the Government of Belize to set a specific day for the Father of the Nation, the Rt. Hon. George Cadle Price, and also the Father of the People’s United Party. Those who know about his interactions among the Belizean people and the historical places he stayed are asking, where are the people’s buildings and seafront land? Has it all been sold out? These persons from the streets are also asking, what was done with the Land Rover he, the Father of the Nation, used to use? Was it dumped in the garbage? Or is it nicely set in a museum?

Belize has a peculiar way of registering history. In a visit I made by myself to Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico, of course, I did not take an entourage with me, because it would have cost my pocket, not the poor people’s consolidated fund. I went to see and know about Maximiliano and Carlota’s summer house and saw many of their personal belongings. Is there any of the Rt. Hon. George Cadle Price’s resthouse to be shown in the country of Belize? How many and where are they established, if there are any left that have not been privatized? The village TANCHEKAAX is an example of corrupted genes.
