BELIZE CITY, Thurs. July 16, 2020 — Police investigated an allegation that Mark King, a businessman and former UDP Lake Independence area representative, had fired a shot outside a building in the Belama area in Belize City, at about 1:00 o’clock this morning.

Police searched the area, but nothing was found to prove that a shot had been fired. No one was reported as being injured, nor was any expended shell or bullet hole found anywhere. Police said that an investigation has been launched into the matter.

Reliable information to us is that King’s girlfriend and her friends were socializing at a house on Signa Yorke Street in Belama at about 1:00 this morning when King arrived, and there was an argument between them, then King left the house.

Shortly after, a gunshot was heard and police were called.
