SAN IGNACIO, Cayo District, Thurs. Aug. 27, 2020– Pastor Roberto Ruiz, 49, a pastor of San Ignacio who was charged with three counts of theft, pleaded guilty to the charges yesterday in the San Ignacio Magistrate’s Court.

His guilty plea was accepted, and he was fined $1,500 for each count, which resulted in a total fine of $4,500 plus $5 cost of court. Ruiz must pay all the fines by March 20, 2021.

Officials of the Farmers Trading Center in Spanish Lookout told police that while reviewing their security camera footage, they saw the pastor stealing tools from their store on three different occasions. They said that the tools which were stolen by Ruiz had a combined value of $3,000.
