Foreign Minister Wilfred Elrington told reporters today that his ministry has found a replacement for the former Belize Council General to New York, Herman Longsworth.
Minister Elrington was answering questions from reporters following the United Democratic Party National Party Council meeting this afternoon.
Elrington said that his former CEO, Pat Andrews has expressed an interest in the post and he will be replacing Herman Longsworth.
Herman Longsworth, the former Albert constituency area representative and former Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Sports, Youth and Culture, was fired from the post by Prime Minister Dean Barrow, after he was mentioned in a negative light in the Auditor General’s Report on the National Sports Council.
Barrow has given the Police Department the green light to investigate Longsworth.
Minister Elrington did not elaborate on when Andrews will take up his duties in New York.
