A family member has mailed me to inform of the death of Paul Jones, 78, who was most known in Belize for his involvement in the Friendship Youth Association (FYA).

The protocol in Belize is that you cannot publish the death of a Belizean until his family or friends provide a death certificate signed by a doctor. In other words, in the absence of a death certificate, I am taking a chance here.

I was in class with one of Paul’s younger brothers, Howard, in Standard VI of Holy Redeemer Boys School, which would be 1958/59. One of Howard’s daughters, Lisa, who would be Paul’s niece, worked for some time as a caregiver for my parents until my mother passed recently.
