Venezuela denounces boat retention with food in Panama Canal

The vessel has 25 thousand tons of soy cake on board for food production, Executive Vice President Delcy Rodriguez said.

Posted 7 August 2019 — Telesur– The Government of Venezuela denounced on Wednesday the retention of a vessel with 25 thousand tons of soy cake for food production in the South American country, in the Panama Canal.

The Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, indicated through the social network of Twitter that, “Venezuela denounces to the world that at this moment, a ship that brings 25 thousand tons of soy cake for food production is being held on the Panama Canal in our country, in attention to the criminal blockade imposed by Donald Trump.”

In a subsequent publication, the Venezuelan official explained that the owner of the vessel which is bringing the merchandise for food was informed by the insurance company that it was prevented from moving that cargo to Venezuela.

In that sense, Rodríguez pointed out that this action constitutes a violation of the human rights of the entire Venezuelan population by impeding their right to food.

Rodriguez urged the United Nations (UN) to stop this new aggression by the US president against the Venezuelan people.

For their part, Panamanian authorities for the Panama Canal, through their Twitter platform account, indicated that they are unaware of the complaint about the retention of the boat in its waters.

Last Monday, August 5, the US Government signed an executive order against the South American country that establishes a total blockade of the assets of the Venezuelan state abroad, as well as the commercial relationship with other nations of the world, with the aim of suffocating the economy of Venezuela and causing an overthrow of the constitutional administration.

What can we expect from the President of the United States, Donald Trump, who keeps his own white people as drug addicts and the other 40 million North Americans in hunger, apart from being a racist who cares less about those children, born Americans, who don’t have enough to eat, or to go to school?

It is not surprising for him to put a blockade to let the Venezuelan people die of hunger. By putting such a blockade, he is not hurting the democratically elected president of that country — it’s the entire people, human beings, Venezuelans.

Living beings with an attitude such as that of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, are not human. Shame on you, Donald Trump!
