Shooting incident at school in Toledo

GeneralShooting incident at school in Toledo

PUNTA GORDA TOWN, Toledo District, Mon. Feb, 1, 2021– On Monday, February 1, around 10:45 a.m., the police visited the Punta Gorda Hospital to speak with 31-year-old Charles Nunez.

Nunez, a self-employed resident of Cerro Road, Punta Gorda Town, was recently the target of a shooting incident in the town. Reports are that while Nunez was cutting the lawn of a local school compound, an assailant whom he knew, approached him, revealed a 9mm pistol and fired shots at Nunez. He reportedly scuffled with his attacker, who then shot him again.

The shooter’s gun eventually malfunctioned, giving Nunez an opportunity to escape.

He sought shelter in the school compound, and was taken by a member of the school’s staff to the Punta Gorda Hospital.

He was reportedly shot in his right shoulder and left abdomen area. He is said to be in a stable condition and is currently being treated for multiple gunshot wounds.
Police are currently investigating the incident.
