The Survivors and Tut Bay FC are leading the Belize District Football Association’s (BDFA) First Division competition with 2 wins each in the 2nd week at the Marion Jones Sports Complex on Friday and Sunday evenings, November 29 – December 1.

In Game 1 on Friday, Caesar Ridge FC (CRFC) salvaged a 6-6 draw with the Old Road Defenders who sought their 1st win. The last goal of Kenan Zuniga’s brace (26’ & 88’) averted defeat for Caesar Ridge, as Ken Galvez also scored a brace (45’ & 53’), with other goals from Raheem Thomas (64’) and Kendale Nuñez (72’). Brandon Smith’s brace (67’ & 81’) had almost secured the win for Old Road, with other goals from Keenen Gillett (6’), Kenrick Timmons (21’), Darren Leal (38’) and Kenrick Timmons (41’).

In Game 2 on Friday night, Tut Bay FC cruised to their 2nd win, 3-1, over Lake-I FC, with goals by Calvin Thurton (65’), Shemar Thomas (85’) and Akeem Thurton (89’). Only Akeem Baptist (17’) scored for Lake-I.

In Game 1 on Sunday evening, Hattieville United Youth Sporting Club (HUYSC) enjoyed their first win, 1-0, over the Kelly Street Bombers. Hattieville’s Enoch “Monster” Rhaburn, Jaheed “Rice” Baptist, Milton Estrada and Michael Myvett led the attack with youthful energy and enthusiasm, but it fell to veteran midfielder Delroy “Tinman” Andrews (68’) to outfox the Kelly Street goalkeeper with the winning goal. Francis Andrews and Steven Baizar led Kelly Street’s counterattack, supported by Quince Briceño and Whitfield Fisher, but Brandon Rogers, Jr. anchored Hattieville’s defense with the help of Shemar Waight, Flayden Carter and Jaheem “Hammer” Thomas, to shut them out.

In Game 2 Sunday night, Sanja Pitts, Jr.’s brace (39’ & 44’) led the Survivors to their 2nd win, 5-3, over Reggae Boyz FC, after Denmark Gill (37’) had scored their first goal from the penalty spot. Other Survivors goals came from Cion Augustine (68’) and Devon Augustine (88’), who launched a long lob from the midfield line on a free kick that ricocheted off the left upright into the net, and goalkeeper Kemar “Pooh” James had no chance. Reggae Boys’ goals came from Kieron Cacho (45’), Keiffer “Beefy” Perteau (60’) and Dion Cacho (90+3’).

The Survivors had enjoyed their first win, 2-1, over Hattieville when the tournament kicked off on Saturday afternoon, November 23, with goals by Keron Sutherland (18’) and Cion Augustine (32’), with Delroy “Tinman” Andrews (90+2’) scoring for Hatttieville.

In Game 2, Tut Bay had enjoyed their 1st win, 4-2, over Caesar Ridge FC, led by Zebulon Leslie’s brace (47’ & 51’), with other goals by Calvin Thurton (34’) and Esmond “Bagga” Sanker (90+3’). Antwan Baptist (9’) and Ken Galvez (65’) scored for CRFC.

In Game 3, Steven Baizar’s brace (54’ & 59’) led Kelly Street to their first win, 3-2, over Old Road, with a 3rd goal by Kevin Higinio (75’). Keenan Gillett (26’) and Augustine Smith (44’) scored for Old Road.

In Game 4, Lake-I’s Tom Moguel’s (90+4’) injury time goal salvaged a 1-1 draw with Reggae Boyz FC, for whom Jaymion Cacho (67’) had struck first.
