GeneralTrio remanded for attempted murder

BELIZE CITY, Mon. Feb. 11, 2019– Three persons were charged with attempted murder when they appeared today before Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts Anderson. They are Fitzroy Myles, 19; Enrique Bermudez, 21; and Alden Lara, 19. They were also charged with dangerous harm and Lara alone was charged with use of deadly means of harm for the shooting of Keshawn Dennison, which occurred on February 5 on Antelope Street Extension. Dennison was shot in both legs.

No plea was taken from them because the offences are indictable in nature. Neither could the court offer them bail because of the nature of the offences. They were remanded into custody until April 11.

The charge of attempted murder is for the shooting of 35-year-old Anthony Crawford, a resident of Iguana Street Extension, who was shot in his chest around 9:15 p.m. on January 14. Crawford was riding his bicycle along with a friend on Antelope Street Extension when his assailant jumped out of a bushy lot and fired two shots, one of which struck Crawford.
