BELIZE CITY, Thurs. Oct. 10, 2019– At the end of Week 10 in the Premier League of Belize (PLB) 2019-2020 Opening Season, Verdes FC is the sole standings leader; both Verdes and Bandits SC are still undefeated and sure of a playoff spot; while the 2 remaining playoff spots are up for grabs among the others. (See standings below)

On Saturday night in Independence, visiting Bandits SC jumped to a 2-nil lead over Altitude FC with goals from Roberto Silva de Lima (4’) and Georgie Welcome (16’); but the home team responded with 2 goals from Andres Orozco (23’ & 45’) to salvage the 2-2 draw.

On Sunday afternoon in Placencia, San Pedro Pirates FC got a goal apiece from Facundo Garnier (6’), Henry Vivas (11’) and Amilton Filho (56’), to come away with the 3-2 win over Placencia Assassins FC, who got a goal each from Leomar Leslie (28’) and Deison Moguel (85’ PK).  Meanwhile, at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga, the Green Machine, Verdes FC rolled over FF Valley Pride FC, 10-1, with goals from Mariano Landero (2’ & 41), Darrel Myvette (11’), Norman Anderson (27’), Jordy Polanco (35’), Krisean Lopez (55’), Trimayne Haris (60’ & 81’) and Edwin Bernal (84’ & 89’); while Elroy Cardinez (62’) avoided the shutout for Valley Pride. And at the MCC Grounds in Belize City, young Jesse August struck twice for home team BDF FC, from a 30-yard free kick (24’) and from the penalty spot (49’ PK), to lead the army to a 2-1 victory over Wagiya FC, who got a late goal from Kenton Flores (84’).
