A destruction of drugs was carried out by the Belmopan police in Georgeville at about 10:30 yesterday morning. Over 1,260 pounds of ganja and 225 grams of cocaine were destroyed by fire. The drug was from “found property” and confiscation by the courts.

Witnesses to the destruction were Assistant Superintendent Sinquest Martinez, Commander of Belmopan police; a magistrate; personnel from the Forensic Unit; a Justice of the Peace; and the exhibit keeper from the Belmopan Police Headquarters.
