Belize City FC and Jewel Fury FC, 0-0 at MCC in game 1 of National Women Football Finals

SportsBelize City FC and Jewel Fury FC, 0-0 at MCC in game 1 of National Women Football Finals

BELIZE CITY, Mon. June 5, 2017–Game 1 in the Football Federation of Belize’s (FFB) National Amateur Women League 2017 championship series between Belize City FC and Belmopan’s Jewel Fury FC ended scoreless on Saturday night at the MCC Grounds. Despite the swirling clouds of dust, often visible as little “whirlwinds” in the night light, and the treacherously uneven pitch that is the MCC, the ladies displayed a high level of football skill and competitive intensity. The lively commentary and shouts of encouragement from the fans present throughout the game, was convincing evidence of their level of interest and appreciation for the performance of our female ‘ballers.

They will meet again “for all the marbles” in game 2 of the finals this Saturday, June10, at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan.
