TOLEDO DISTRICT, Mon. June 4, 2018– On June 1, Bowen and Bowen held their 24th annual national spelling bee, and the names of the top three spellers have been announced.

Bryce Steur, from Toledo Christian Academy,  took the first-place spot. He is thirteen years old and a standard 5 student. He was homeschooled until standard 3. Steur loves programming and math and his favorite sport is volleyball.

In second place was Eric Wade, 13, from La Inmaculada R.C. in Orange Walk. Wade also loves math and reading and he wants to become an electrical engineer.

The third place prize went to Sierra Steur, 14, also from Toledo Christian Academy. Her favorite subjects are creative arts, spelling, and physical education. She also loves reading, knitting and playing volleyball.
