Cattle rustling in Rancho Dolores

CrimeCattle rustling in Rancho Dolores

Police of the River Valley area are seeking the thief or thieves who rustled two bulls, slaughtered them and left the heads behind. The bulls are valued at about $4,500, the property of Bruno Sutherland, who lives on Central American Boulevard, Belize City, but has a house in Bermudian Landing. The bulls were found butchered on his farm in Rancho Dolores at about 9:30 Saturday morning.

Sutherland told police that he travelled to his farm and on his arrival, began to check his cattle. He found that two bulls were not accounted for, and after checking around his farm, found their heads; their carcasses had been taken away.

One bull was white and the other was black. The white bull reportedly weighed about 2,000 pounds and was valued at about $3,000, and the other bull weighed about 1,000 pounds , and was valued at $1,500.

Sutherland immediately went to the police and made a formal statement. Police have since launched an investigation, but so far no one has been arrested.
