Cricket News – Excellence vs Summer Fever in cricket finals

SportsCricket News – Excellence vs Summer Fever in cricket finals

BELIZE CITY, Thurs. July 13, 2017–The Belize National Cricket Association (BNCA) reported today on the latest action in the Harrison Parks National Cricket Competition 2017. Following is that report:

The cricket match (game two of the semifinals) between Excellence of Double Head Cabbage and Brilliant of Crooked Tree was completed on Sunday, July 9, in Double Head Cabbage.

Brilliant batted a total of 207 runs. Calbert Reynolds top scored with 65 runs, and Lawrence Banner took three wickets.

Excellence batted a total of 210 with 8 wickets fallen; but the last wicket was at bat, as Excellence had one player short. Kenroy Roca top scored for Excellence with 37 runs, and Ian Broaster took 2 wickets.

Therefore, with this big win, Excellence has clinched their spot in the Finals.

The first of the (best-of-3) finals games is scheduled to be played in Double Head Cabbage this Saturday, July 15, where Excellence will be going up against Summer Fever of Bermudian Landing.

(Sports Ed. Note: Apparently, the Easy Does It protest against Summer Fever has failed, and Summer Fever’s victory stands, putting them in the finals.)
