It was said that a certain race entry known as the bamboo horse was taking off like a bullet out of the gates and leading for most of the race, but always ended up taking last place in every race. The moral of the story is: not all that takes off first and being successful for a part of the race is always the winner. You have to finish the race in front to be tops. After winning their first three friendly matches, we could relate that story to New Site Erei, but we?ll leave that for right now. Erei has enough issues to deal with.

With the BPFL?s RFG Insurance Company Cup Tournament season opening marathon only days away, barring another postponement, many teams are wheeling and dealing with big name athletes for a shot at the tournament championship trophy. Muschamp and Daniel Thomas, along with a promising rookie in the big leagues – Shannon Flowers, who played for the Brown Bombers and the Belize National U-21 squad, plus Thedran Reid, who terrorized goalkeepers in the ?B? Missing last season?s opportunity to go to the Big Dance seems to be a sore subject for the San Pedro Seahawks. In an attempt to avoid history repeating itself, they are close to signing deals with some prominent names in the league to bolster their chances of making it.

It has been confirmed that defending champions Juventus have lost their player/manager Charlie Slusher to the Seahawks. Calcutta Bulls are staying with most of their team, except for goalkeeper Giovanni Rodriguez, who at press time hasn?t re-signed or displayed any interest in staying between the sticks for the Bulls. However, Calcutta picked up Prodigal Son, Merlin Tek, who started off last season with his hometown team but left for greener pastures a few miles south in Orange Walk Town to run with Juventus. Eduardo ?El Gigante? Perez, Derwin Ennis and veteran Estevan Hall are reportedly also returning to try and keep the ?Mad Bull Feeva? burning in the North.
