FFB postpones national U-17 tournament

SportsFFB postpones national U-17 tournament

BELMOPAN, Mon. Aug. 1, 2016–The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) announces that, due to the approaching weather system, it has postponed the Atlantic Bank Atlantic Insurance Road to U-17 World Cup and the FIFA Live Your Goals Campaign that were both scheduled for this weekend, August 5-7.

In an effort to continue with the enhancement of football in the country, both events have been rescheduled for the weekend of August 19-21.

The U-17 tournament, which will be held at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan, is to select a National U-17 team that will be representing Belize in the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qualifiers to be held in Panama in November.

The FIFA Live Your Goals campaign targets and inspires women and girls to play football and stay in the game. The FFB will be holding four festivals, with the first being for females age 10 to 12 from the Corozal and Orange Walk districts on Saturday, August 20. The festivals will all take place at the National Football Stadium, FFB Headquarters in Belmopan.

The Football Federation of Belize regrets any inconvenience caused.
