Forty years ago I was a young man that was ignorant to many things. Today, at 65, I still don’t know anything and trying to learn. Nonetheless, let me share with you all a little of my experience.
In those days a transnational company had taken out to the international market a powder milk. Now, just imagine how many academic specialists and non-academic employees this company had used to produce this product, and afterwards to convince the people to buy such product because, according to them, it was better for babies’ growth rather than the mother’s breast milk. They used all kinds of scientists to give a scientific explanation to convince and fool people like myself. It took me 40 years to know that that was a marketing strategy.
My adoptive grandparents had two goats in the yard and I was fed with mother goat’s milk. If the mother of a child cannot give the child breast milk for some reason, I would recommend goat or sheep milk. But, the orders of the day made by the globalized civilized system do not permit us to live within our culture.
Today, Saturday, February 14, 2009, it is 11:45 a.m. Parents, do you know where your children are? Finca Solana is not a safe place for children to be around with their slingshots without a male adult. Many things happen in Finca Solana: some are reported to the corresponding authorities; others are not. There is a street talk saying that a couple were having their fun at Finca Solana when some young males came out of the high bush and serviced the both of them. It was not reported because it so comes that the male was (is) from a Government Department. Recently a lady was going home and two male youths passed her on their bicycle. A few minutes after, they came back with a mask over their face and stole the lady of her valuable goods, including money. Both cases happened during the daylight.
For the past three weeks there is a person studying my place and movements. A couple of days ago a neighbor who lives about five blocks from my house, told me that someone lately poisoned five of his pure bred dogs and that he had noticed a male person who is not from around here standing in the high bush one block from my house looking towards my place. I was touched about the poisoning of his dogs, because they are very expensive and useful. At the same time I gave him thanks for the information and told him that I know: it’s not the first time. I know because I hear their footsteps during the night right behind my yard waiting for the precise moment for the attack. The problem for them is that I don’t sleep at night.
A couple of weeks ago another neighbor of mine had his house ransacked and robbed. There was a time when the police used to come around during the day and at night flashed into the high bush. Probably they are using other tactics.
On Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at 10:30 p.m. I was listening to the Mexican news through “Televisa” conducted by Joaquin Lopez Dóriga where he was reporting about a group of “sicarios” (hired assassins) called Zetas who had killed a military general who had just retired on the first of January 2009, along with his personal bodyguard, a lieutenant who was on service and Cancun’s Presidente Municipal’s (Mayor) nephew, who was serving them as guide because they didn’t know Cancun City.
Cancun’s Municipal President had asked the Secretary of Defense to recommend him someone to reorganize his Police Department because of too much corruption and its involvement in drug trafficking. General Mauro Enrique Tello Quiñones was recommended to him, and the General had accepted the job. What had shocked me with this news is that Joaquin Lopez Dóriga had said that just after the killing of those people, the chief of the gang went to Belize to transport 20 tons of cocaine into Mexico. (Today Monday, February 16, 2009, not all of the assassins have been caught) One ton= 1,000 kilos. 20 tons = 20,000 kilos. If it is true what the news commentator said, my question would be where can 20,000 kilos of cocaine be hidden?
The USA government is “concerned” with Mexico’s situation and the drugs trafficking to the USA and the weapons trafficking from the USA to Mexico. Do you believe that? Guns, drugs, prostitution, casinos, tourism and associates are big business $$$. Well, the chief of police, whose nickname is “VIKINGO,” is detained at the National Security in Mexico City for his involvement in drug trafficking and etc. A new person took over the post. She is an attorney at law (civil). She holds a Diploma in Security with 20 years of experience in different posts of the same field. They call her “La Mujer de Hierro”- The Iron Woman. Since the USA doesn’t want to control their internal market, might as well legalize all drugs in Belize. Someone asked me a question I cannot answer. How is it that there are so many parties, cars, constructions, eating and drinking and there are no jobs? It doesn’t show that Belize has 46% living in poorness. Many of us doesn’t have to eat.
By the way, Mr. P.M., where can I go to get that $60.00 which is donated to the poor of the poors?
