Football tournaments coming soon to Belize City

BELIZE CITY, Wed. July 22, 2015-p-Get ready, players/teams, for the first ever Hon. Anthony “Boots” Martinez Cup 2015 Football Tournament!

Beginning in August, 2015, we will be having a football tournament in five (5) different categories, which will be played in Belize City at the MCC Grounds: 1st Division/Senior – 8 teams only; U-16 (14-16 years) Males – 6 teams only; Females Open – 6 teams only; Inter-Office/Firms – 10 teams only; Over 40 years (veterans) – 6 teams only.

NOTE: Players will only be allowed to play in one category!

All uniforms will be provided. Registration will commence on August 12, 2015.

Trophies & cash prizes will be awarded to top three (3) teams in each division!

(Ed. Note: According to David “Caliba” Jones, the above tournament, sponsored by Hon. Anthony “Boots” Martinez, will be under the auspices of the FFB and the Belize District Football Association (BDFA). Some details may need to be worked out, as our reports are that the Interim Committee of the BDFA also has plans for U-15, U-17 and U-20 tournaments at the MCC.
