GeneralMitchell Cob, veteran policeman, dies on duty

COROZAL TOWN, Corozal District, Mon. June 18, 2018– Police constable Mitchell Cob, 48, a veteran policeman of San Pedro Town attached to the Corozal Police formation, who was conducting routine patrols in and around the Corozal Police Station while on duty last night, was found lying on the ground, in an unresponsive state, near a vehicle on the station’s compound at about 10:00 last night.

Cob was rushed to the Corozal Community Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Reports indicate that Cob was patrolling behind the police station when he collapsed. Police are awaiting the results of a post-mortem exam on Cob’s body to ascertain the cause of his death.

His fellow police officers said that he was friendly and easy to get along with. He was the father of a 5-year-old.
