BELIZE CITY, Mon. Aug. 14, 2017–The 2017 Belize Rural Female Softball Tournament wound up its regular season over the weekend with games at Bermudian Landing on Saturday, August 12, and at Flowers Bank on Sunday, August 13.

In game 1 on Saturday in Bermudian Landing, Unity DHC won, 11-4, over Orchid Girls. Winning pitcher (WP) was Herlet Bull; and losing pitcher (LP) was Valorie Vernon. Game 2 saw Power Outage with the 13-1 victory over Lords Bank Sunrise. WP – Eyvette Flowers; LP – Karen Hilton. And in game 3, it was Easy Does It over Arrows United, 8-5. WP – Margaret Hendy; LP – Shawna Avilez. The action moved to Flowers Bank on Sunday; and in the opener, Power Outage dropped Unity DHC, 11-4. WP – Eyvette Flowers; LP – Herlet Bull. Next it was Lords Bank Sunrise, 12-3, over Beverly Hills Flames. WP – Karen Hilton; LP – Alberta Bailey. And finally, Orchid Girls edged Easy Does It, 12-11. WP – Valorie Vernon; LP – Margaret Henry.

The Top-4 playoffs are scheduled for this Sunday, August 20, in Lords Bank. Playoff teams are #1 seed Unity DHC (Double Head); #2 seed Power Outage (Crooked Tree); #3 seed Orchid Girls (Burrell Boom); and #4 seed Lords Bank Sunrise. (See standings below.) Seeding between teams with similar records was determined based on their head-to-head combat results.

The playoffs, which begin at 9:00 a.m. sharp on Sunday, will follow the Page System, arriving at a championship in 4 games.
