SAN IGNACIO TOWN, Mon. Nov. 14, 2016–On Friday night, Sergeant Peppers Savages came up with a huge win against Benque Power, 63-52, to claim the fourth and final playoff spot in the Under 23 division of the San Ignacio/Santa Elena (SSBA) basketball competition. Sergeant Peppers Savages was led by Robert Jeffries, who had the game high with 29 pts, while Joel Montejo netted 19 pts. Kevin Brown was the top scorer for Benque Power with 16 pts, while Anfernee Young and Jamie Carbajal tallied 12 and 11 pts, respectively. In game 2, Belize Pet World, who was initially named Special Effects, blew out Cayo, 55-22, in the Over 35 division. Darrel Williams was the top scorer with 13 pts, while Arthan Tucker sank 12 pts, and Karon “Civic” Neal scored 11 pts. Roberto “Mosho” Castellanos was the high man for the Cayo squad with 12 pts. In the nightcap, Belmopan defeated Maria Chang/4G Lyte, 62-52, in the Over 35 category. Earl “Bolo” Johnson sank 24 pts, while Mark “Diesel” Wagner netted 15 pts, and Rupert Brown chipped in with 13 pts. Maria Chang/4G Lyte was led by Vince “Post” Estrada with the game high of 27 pts, while Kevin Domingo scored 9 pts. The last game of the night was not played, as Benque Riders was a no-show, giving the win to Maraton Mambas in the Senior Division.

Saturday night saw Kings defeating Belmopan in the Under 19 division by the score of 48-41. Kings was led by Justin Ford and Ryan “Mentes” Carbajal, who scored 12 and 10 pts, respectively. Aaron “Curry” Allison was the top scorer for Belmopan with 16 pts. In the second game of the night, Belmopan defeated Invaders, 51-24, in the old man division. Mark “Diesel” Wagner was the top scorer in the game with 17 pts, while Earl “Bolo” Johnson scored 14 pts. Dwayne Gongora was the top scorer for Invaders with 12 pts. In game 3, Maria Chang/4G Lyte defeated Tuff Enuff, 47-26, in the Over 35 category. Cashian Flowers had the game high with 10 pts, while Vince “Post” Estrada and Ian Augustine netted 9 pts each. Lester Cadle was the top scorer for Tuff Enuff with 9 pts. In the nightcap, Sacred Heart Junior College (SHJC) defeated Belmopan Wolves, 54-44, in the Senior Division. SHJC was led by Elver “PG” Ariola, who scored 14 pts, Jarrett Davis with 12 pts, and Antwan McFadzean with 11 pts. Christian “C-Rod” Rodriguez was the top scorer for Belmopan Wolves with 17 pts, and Abdul Sanderson with 10 pts.
