SAN IGNACIO, Mon. Aug. 8, 2016–The San Ignacio & Santa Elena Basketball Association (SSBA) will be hosting its annual basketball tournament, starting on Friday, August 26. The tournament will be held at Falcon Field and Victor Galvez Stadium in San Ignacio Town. The five categories are: Under 19, Under 23, Seniors Over 35, and Females. Interested persons can contact Elvis “Tigre” Usher at 605-3390 to register a team, or you can send us a message on our San Ignacio and Santa Elena Basketball Association Facebook page. Registration fee for all divisions is $300.
AMANDALA, a biweekly newspaper published on Tuesdays and Fridays, was founded as an organ of the United Black Association for Development (UBAD), which emerged on August 13, 1969. Even after UBAD was divided and later dissolved in 1974, AMANDALA remained.
