Table Tennis – 2014 BNE National JUNIOR Championships results!

SportsTable Tennis - 2014 BNE National JUNIOR Championships results!

BELIZE CITY–The 2014 BNE National Junior Championships concluded on Sunday, November 23, with the following results:

12 and Under Category: 1st place – Terry Su; 2nd – Desire Amagula; 3rd – Sahil Hotchandani; 3rd – Samron Pott.
15 and Under Category: 1st place – Latrell Solis; 2nd – Jaylen Nicholson; 3rd – John Delcid; 3rd – Cody Rivero.
18 and Under Category: 1st place – John Delcid; 2nd – Latrell Solis; 3rd – Luis Bardalez; 3rd – Daryl Palacio.

This is the second year that a BNE JUNIOR National Championships has been hosted separately from the BNE OPEN National Championships, due to the increased growth in numbers of our Junior players. The Belize Table Tennis Association (BTTA), in partnership with our sponsor, Belize Natural Energy, will continue to move forward with these events being held separately. Over 150 matches were played, with over 100 Junior players participating across the three age divisions; our biggest Junior event yet!

Board director Hector Lopez, along with our membership director, presented 16 trophies to all winners of the Junior Championships. The association thanked the sponsors, players, spectators and organizing committee for their assistance in this event.

Special mention goes out to our 15 and Under Champion, Latrell Solis, who finished the year with an impressive run, having been in the semifinal or better for every major Junior event in 2014. He, along with his teammates John Delcid (the 18 and Under Junior Champion), Jaylen Nicholson (15 and Under finalist), and Samron Pott (12 and Under semifinalist) also won this year’s 2nd Division Brother’s Habet Team League Title, an impressive showing from our Junior players.
