ORANGE WALK TOWN, Mon. July 16, 21018– With the Premier League of Belize (PLB) 2018-2019 Opening Season soon to kick off, the Verdes football club visited Orange Walk Town to play two friendly, training matches last Friday night, July 13, at the Louisiana Football Field. Both were shutout victories for the semipro visitors. In the 6:30 p.m. opener, Verdes beat Guinea Grass Jam Rock, 2-nil, with a goal each from Shamir Ingram and Erlin Gutierrez (Honduran). And in the nightcap, Verdes bombed Trinidad Sinbad, 9-0, with goals from John King (3), Krisean Lopez (3), Elroy “Bibbs” Kuylen, Sean Caliz and Edwin Vijeda.

Mundialito games
The Orange Walk Mundialito tournament continued with three games at Louisiana Football Field on Sunday, July 15. In game 1, Colombia clipped Germany, 1-nil, on a goal by Brandon Smith. Game 2 saw Argentina with the 2-1 win over Chile. Allan Castillo got both goals for Argentina, while Jamir Osorio scored for Chile. And in game 3, USA shelled Belgium, 8-0, with 3 goals apiece from Belarmino Esquivel, Jr. and Menalio Novelo, Jr.; and 1 each from Kreshawn Sheppard and Orlando “Pepos” Trejo, Jr.

1:45 p.m. – USA vs Colombia (2 undefeated teams so far)
2:45 p.m. – Argentina vs Belgium
