General2 gunmen jack Wesley College of 11 grand
One of Belize’s most prominent high schools, Wesley College, located in the Yabra area, was jacked yesterday of over $11,000 from the registration fees of the college’s 6th form. Two gunmen, wearing no masks but hats and dark glasses, walked into the office and walked out $11,375 richer.

Police said that sometime around 11:00 yesterday morning, the duo – one with fair complexion, 6’2" in height, slim built, wearing a white T-shirt, long dark jeans pants, dark shades, a peaked cap, and the other of brown complexion, of medium build and approximately 5’8" in height, attired the same as the other – entered the office armed with revolvers, and bringing in the AAA security guard, who had been guarding the building at the time.

Police said that the gunmen also robbed the principal and four other teachers and office clerks, who were in the office, of their cellular phones and jewelry. The gunmen quickly fled the area after that, said police.

The school’s principal, Brenda Armstrong, said that she felt that the robbery was actually a prank when she first saw a young man holding a gun on the security. She realized the shocking reality when the men entered the office and forced her and the others to lie on the ground.

They had taken into the consideration the fact that they could have been robbed, and so had made preparations to get the money to the bank once it had reached over a certain amount. That was not done, however, and that was why the thieves were able to make off with so much money.
