DANGRIGA, Wed. Oct. 28, 2015–Football: Here are the results of games in the Rodwell Ferguson Football Tournament that were played at the Pomona New Site football field over the weekend.

In Saturday night’s opener, Bowman Valley Rangers and Pomona Sliders ended up in a 1-1 draw. Ryan Gregorio scored for Bowman Valley Rangers, while Jessie Baide scored for Pomona Sliders. In game 2, Silk Grass Southern Strikers and Hope Creek United also ended in a 1-1 tie. Goal scorers were Carlos Medina for Silk Grass, and Jevon Parham for Hope Creek United.

Game 1 on Sunday was to feature Umadagu vs Maya King, but Umadagu walked out of the tournament, so Maya King won by default. In game 2, CPBL Barracks won over Texas Warriors, 3 goals to 1. Delrick Pandy struck twice and Axel Ramos got the other goal for CPBL Barracks, while Texas Warriors’ only goal came from Cesar Montenegro.

7:00 p.m. – Maya King vs Valley Stars
9:00 p.m. – Hope Creek Pumas vs CPBL Barracks

Sunday, November 1
1:00 p.m. – Valley Shattaz vs Alta Vista Scavengers
3:00 p.m. – Pomona Warriors vs Valley Pride Rookies
5:00 p.m. – CPBL-Alta Vista High vs Hope Creek United

All games are at the Pomona New Site football field.

Cycling – Monthly Race on Sunday: Dangriga Amateur Cycling Association will be hosting their Monthly Race this Sunday, November 1, at 10:00 a.m. from the Wadani Shed into Hopkins Village, make a U-turn in front of King Casava, and back to the Wadani Shed. Riders from all over the country are invited, excluding Elite riders – no Cross Country riders are allowed to ride this race on Sunday, until the T.V. Ramos Classic on the 15th of November.

T.V. Ramos Cycling Classic: The Dangriga Amateur Cycling Association, in collaboration with the Cycling Federation of Belize, will be hosting its Annual T.V. Ramos Cycling Classic on Sunday, November 15.

Last year’s race attracted over 98 cyclists from across the country of Belize, who took part. This year is expected to be bigger and better. Last year’s defending champion was Brandon Cattouse from C-Ray Cycling Team.

This year’s race, however, will be in three [3] categories. First will be the Elite category, which will consist of Cross Country riders. That race will start from the Wadani Shed at 10:00 a.m. and head on the Southern Highway to Placencia junction and back to the Wadani Shed. First place gets $500.00; second place, $300.00; third place, $200.00; and fourth place, $100.00. Can Brandon Cattouse regain his title back-to-back?

The second category will be the Weekend Warriors. This will consist of riders like Mark Gentle from BCB FC Williams, Barney Brown from Team Scotiabank, Team Santino’s, Truckers Posse Team, Papa Brown from Cayo Rental, just to mention a few. Weekend Warriors will also start from the Wadani Shed and head to Maya Centre on the Southern Highway and back to the Wadani Shed. First place receives $400.00; second place, $300.00; third place, $100.00; and fourth place, $50.00.

The third category will be the Masters and the Amateur. This will consist of riders over 40 years and Juniors. The race will also start from Wadani Shed and also go to Maya Centre and back to the Wadani Shed. First place gets $300.00; second place, $300.00; third place, $100.00; and fourth place, $50.00.

This race, the T.V. Ramos Cycling Classic, is also a program event for the Garifuna Settlement Day Celebration for November 19th.
