4 shutouts in Week 2 of National Amateur Women’s League 2019-2020 Opening Tournament

BELIZE CITY, Thurs. Oct. 24, 2019– All 4 games in Week 2 of the National Amateur Women’s League (NAWL) 2019-2020 Opening Tournament ended in shutouts.

Saturday, October 19 results

At the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga, Jewel Fury of Belmopan crushed Stann Creek Jewels, 8-0, with a whopping 6 goals from Mariela Morales (12’, 14’, 17’, 34’, 45’ & 61’) along with 1 each from Anijay Quiroz (20’) and Ada Cordova (79’).

Meanwhile, at the Cowpen Field, home standing Rumberas blanked Toledo Divas, 5-0, with 3 goals from newly acquired Kaite Jones (5’, 18’ & 73’) and 1 from Esly Padilla (36’), along with an own goal by Toledo’s Esmie Requena (45’ OG).
Sunday, October 20 results

At the Santa Elena Sporting Complex, it was Maya Hill Royals bombarding Santa Elena Strikers, 14-nil, with goals from Cynthia Montalvan (8’, 16’, 22’, 24’ & 51’), Daysi Paiz (19’, 25’ & 89’), Kimberly Perez (49’, 58’, 82’, 87’ & 92’) and Viviani Piveral (65’ PK).

And out at Ambergris Stadium, Florine Vasquez (62’, 73’ & 78’) scored all 3 goals to give visiting Verdes Rebels the 3-0 win over San Pedro Invaders.
