While the synod is traditionally held every two years, the 2004 Synod was not held due to unavoidable circumstances.
The synod constitutes the highest decision-making body for the Diocese. It reviews the activities since the last Synod and makes plans and activities for the period until the next Synod.
Activities planned are spiritual, social or educational, and impact positively across the entire country, for Anglicans and non-Anglicans alike, church officials say.
?We ask for the prayers of the nation, as we meet to further discern God?s vision for our church,? the Diocese says. ?Pray for us to receive a clear understanding of our mission and ministry, which can result from our deliberations, and which will be a demonstration of God?s love for all in our country.?
This morning the Rt. Reverend Phillip Wright, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese in Belize, and the Very Reverend Lloyd Neal, appeared on the KREM WUB Morning Vibes to publicize the Synod.
