The win last Thursday over UB was their second such win in this 2006 season and as a result shoved them from fourth place to second place. After being down at the half, 37-36, on the road, the Bulldogs showed remarkable character by outscoring their opponents, 40-32, in a very well played and highly competitive second half play. They once again had four or more players scoring in double figures (the Bulldogs are 5-1 in games where four or more players score in double figures). Aubrey Lopez, who has been heating it up of late (averaging 22 points 10.3 rebounds over the last 3 games), once again led the way, with 18 points 11 rebounds, followed by Earl ?Bolo? Johnson 13 points, and Darwin ?Puppy? Leslie and Bart Sanchez, 11 points apiece. The Black Jaguars, who with the loss fell to (4-3), were led by MVP candidate Jeff Clifton 28 points 13 rebounds, Kirk ?Shabba? Smith 16 points 11 rebounds and Christian Rodriguez 10 points. The Eagles will be entering Friday night?s game on a 4-game losing streak, having lost last week to their archrivals, Northern Uprising, in an 87-83 squeaker on the road. They were led by Dale Turner 23 points, Leith Paulino 17 points, and Kevin Arnold 16 points. Corozal was led Andre Almendarez 26 points 10 rebounds, and Jason Daly 21 points. On Saturday last in the Game of the Week, it was San Pedro Tigersharks edging the defending champs, BTL Nets, 65-61 on the island. The Nets, who led most of the game, was overtaken in the final minutes of regulation by the Tigersharks following several blown lay-ups by the visitors. Stephen Williams led the Sharks with 19 points, followed by Bruce Rowland 12 points and Keith Acosta 9 points. The Nets had three players scoring in double figures, with AC Augustine totaling 17 pts 10 rebounds, while teammate Edward Baptist contributed 13 points.
