On Friday, March 23, on the WUB-Wake Up Belize Morning Vibes Show, Superintendent of Police, James Magdaleno, the investigating officer in the alleged rape case against a senior officer of the Crime Investigation Branch, admitted that the officer the department is investigating is Superintendent Chester Williams, Head of CIB, something that the Police Department previously had been unwilling to reveal.
On Monday, however, while at a press conference held at the Racoon Street Police Station, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Crispin Jeffries, refused to speak about the matter.
Today, Thursday, Magdaleno was scheduled to forward his findings to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
However, according to Magdaleno, new developments, which he learned of yesterday and is unable to release at this time, mean that he cannot forward the case file to the DPP yet.
A reliable source told us that the woman corporal, 24, has changed the date of her alleged rape from September, 2006, to November 12, 2006.
On Monday, March 19, 2007, the woman corporal reported to police that sometime in September of 2006 she was raped by a senior officer of the Crimes Investigation Branch.
Other details of her report have not been released at this time because, we were told, the police are making sure that the woman’s report of something that she said happened six months ago, is factual, and not just a malicious report against the officer.
Magdaleno’s investigation began more than a week ago.
