The Belize Association of Masters Athletics (BAMA) was formed Wednesday, September 15, 2010. Its inaugural meeting was held at Civic Centre Conference Room at 6:30 p.m. Elected as President was Elston Shaw, Anamarie McCulloch as Secretary, Bryan Cadle as Assistant Secretary, and Lawrence Craig as Treasurer.
A Membership and Constitution Committee was also formed involving members Joel Wade, Lawrence Craig, and Philip Andrewin as Committee Chairman.
The main objectives of the association are promotion of friendship, understanding and cooperation at all levels of masters athletics, arrangement of masters athletic events, participation of master athletes and keeping records of performances.
Membership in BAMA is open to anyone thirty-five years of age or above who is interested in masters and sub-masters fitness; and membership of other veteran or masters organizations is acceptable. The application for membership fee is $25.00, and the annual fee will also be $25.00, payable by the end of February each year.
The next General Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 10, at 6:00 p.m. at the Civic Centre Conference Room.
