Godfrey Ramsey charged with attempted murder of Derrick Jones

GeneralGodfrey Ramsey charged with attempted murder of Derrick Jones
Unemployed Price Alley resident, Godfrey Ramsey, Jr., 21, aka “Puddy,” has been charged with attempted murder, grievous harm and use of deadly means of harm following an incident reported just over a week ago.

According to Derrick Jones, he and Ramsey had a misunderstanding at the corner of Price Alley and Victoria Street on July 30, 2011. Police officers responded to the area and reportedly managed to intervene and settle the argument.

But Jones reports that shortly after police left the area, Ramsey produced a firearm and shot at         him several times, injuring him in his left foot.

No plea was taken by Magistrate Albert Hoare today in the #5 Magistrate’s Court as the offences are indictable, and due to the alleged use of a firearm Ramsey could not be offered bail at the Magistrate’s Court level in the first instance. He was remanded until September 2, 2011.
