John McAfee, still in hiding, offers $25,000 reward for Gregory Faull’s killer

Former antivirus pioneer, American John McAfee, who is a person of interest to police in their investigation into the murder of another American, Gregory Faull, 53, McAfee’s neighbor on San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, is still at large.

He went into hiding, claiming through international media organs that he has nothing to do with Faull’s death, and is now offering a reward of $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who killed Faull.

NBC Dateline correspondent Keith Morrison said that McAfee called him on Sunday, November 18, and during the interview not only offered the reward, but claimed that he is at his home on San Pedro, and not in hiding.

However, Rafael Martinez, Police Press Officer, told reporters during their weekly police press briefing on Tuesday, November 20, that the police went to McAfee’s properties and conducted searches, but he was not there.

McAfee’s neighbor, Gregory Faull, was found dead with a bullet in his head in his two-flat home in the Mata Rock area of San Pedro, around 7:15 a.m. on Sunday, November 11. He was last seen alive around 10:00 p.m. the previous Saturday, November 10. Police believed he was killed sometime between 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, and 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 11.

McAfee, who has managed to elude police, has spoken with the San Pedro Sun, international press and online media.

Police, in conducting their investigations, went to McAfee’s compound in Mata Rock, San Pedro, and dug up four of McAfee’s dogs that had been shot and were subsequently buried. Witnesses on McAfee’s compound said that police decapitated the dogs and reburied the animals, taking their heads to retrieve the slugs to determine whether they matched the slug taken out of Gregory Faull’s head.

McAfee, meanwhile, remains adamant that he will not come to the police, because he fears that they will kill him.
