Mayor biting off more than he can chew

LettersMayor biting off more than he can chew

Dear Editor,

It has been a while since I have written about things that are chewing away at my nerves. It all has to do with these cement streets. Change is good, but at the cost to all our pockets, is not at all right. Our Mayor seems to be under the impression that we are all happy with the situations we are faced with in Belize City.

There are too many streets blocked, and many other streets are being dug up all over the place by BWS. Now if you ask me, the Mayor is biting off more than he can chew. All I keep hearing from him is about money.

News flash, Mr. Mayor: gas is expensive and in a country that is democratic, I see a dictator, because there are changes being made without consultation or consideration of the public.

Then, to add insult to injury, we have the police forcing their way contrary to the flow of traffic without any emergency.

I saw the Coast Guard hauling a boat across the BelCan Bridge, contrary to flow of traffic. What gives these guys the right to do this? Everyone has to follow the law, and all who use a trailer should learn to drive a truck, as well as the boats they are towing.
