TEGUCIGALPA—Reports received from our Female Volleyball U-23 National Team at the U-23 Central American Female Volleyball Championship in Honduras are that our girls are holding their own, although they presently have a 1 win 2 losses record.
In their opening match on Thursday, August 7, against Nicaragua, Belize lost 3 sets to 1 (23-25, 25-16, 18-25, 13-25). After a rest day on Friday, they bounced back on Saturday, August 9, to beat Panama 3 sets to 1 (21-25, 26-24, 25-21, 26-24). They were right back in action on Sunday, August 10, against El Salvador, and they showed the wear of that tough match against Panama, as we fell to El Salvador in 3 straight sets (18-25, 21-25, 25-27).
Belize plays tournament leader Costa Rica today, Monday, Guatemala tomorrow, and Honduras on Wednesday.
The team returns home on Thursday, August 14.
Let’s go, Team Belize!!
