Richard Harrison ran in by-election due to resignation of PUP’s Joseph Mahmud

LettersRichard Harrison ran in by-election due to resignation of PUP’s Joseph Mahmud

Dear Editor,

In reference to your story of Friday, February 7, 2020, captioned, “Businessman Richard Harrison, 55, dies …. “, please note an inaccurate statement on the last paragraph of page 2, which states:  “Harrison ran in the by-election in Cayo North … following the death of the PUP’s Agripino Cawich in 2015.”

That by-election in 2015 was due to the resignation of the PUP’s Joseph Mahmud from the House of Representatives.

Cawich’s death triggered a by-election in Cayo South in 2003, which resulted in John Saldivar’s election.
