BELMOPAN, Mon. Mar. 1, 2021– The Geology and Petroleum Department will participate in the 2021 Prospect and Property Expo. In a press release issued by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Petroleum and Mining on Monday, March 1, 2021, it was announced that the department would participate in the virtual expo from March 1 to March 4, 2021.

The department will make a stage presentation on the revised petroleum laws and fiscal system and will host a virtual booth. The release states, “This expo caters for countries and their governments to promote and attract exploration investment.”

The department also made a showcase presentation in late February on the petroleum potential of Belize and possible new exploration opportunities.

The release states, “The objective of the GPD is to attract petroleum investment to Belize to stimulate oil and gas exploration and new discoveries to increase the country’s petroleum reserves and revenues from petroleum. “
