BELIZE CITY, Wed. Mar. 17, 2021– Police are investigating the gruesome double murder of 49-year-old Cynthia Conorquie and 21-year-old Allen Garcia.

The incident occurred around 7:40 on Wednesday night. Reports are that the victims were in a fenced yard located at No.5 Logwood Street in Belize City when a lone gunman entered the premises and proceeded to fire several shots in their direction.

Both Conorquie and Garcia were severely wounded and were rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment. By the time police arrived at the hospital, at around 7:45 p.m., however, both victims had succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment.

While the nature of this killing suggests that it was a retaliatory attack, at this time no motive has been established by police. However, there had been a recent shooting in that general vicinity on Banak Street.
