BELIZE CITY, Sat. Mar. 20, 2021– A recent shooting on Rivero Street claimed the life of yet another Belize City resident. The victim, Clifford Lorenzo, 26, was killed near his residence on Saturday, March 20.

Sometime after 8:10 p.m. on that day, police responded to a report of a shooting and went to the area, where they found the lifeless body of a Creole male with apparent gunshot wounds in the body. The victim was lying supine, in a pool of his own blood.

Following a police investigation, the victim was identified as 26-year-old Clifford Anthony Lorenzo. According to reports, around 8:10 p.m. on Saturday, Lorenzo was casually walking in his yard, when an unidentified gunman approached him and fired several shots, which caused severe wounds that claimed his life.

So far, the police have confiscated four 9mm Aguila expended shells from the crime scene. Three persons have been detained for this recent murder which is believe to stem from an ongoing rivalry in between gang elements within Belize City. The police continue to follow the leads relating to this recent homicide.s
