COTTON TREE, Mon. Aug. 8, 2022 A 27-year-old man from Franks Eddy Village lost his life in a fatal road traffic accident that occurred last night between Miles 43 and 44 of the George Price Highway in Cotton Tree Village. He has been identified as Max Samuel Pop.

Reports are that a red Toyota pickup being driven by Jermano Bol, 55, collided with Pop’s pickup, a black Toyota, and caused Pop’s fatal injuries. Bol, a resident of Roaring Creek Village, was traveling toward Belmopan from Belize City, and the victim, Pop, was traveling in the opposite direction.

Pop received severe head and body injuries and reportedly died on the spot before his body was transported to the morgue. Bol was transported to the Western Regional Hospital for medical treatment.

Police have not yet issued a report to indicate whether Bol was given a notice of intended prosecution, but reports are that a blood sample was taken from him while he was at the hospital.
