BELIZE CITY, Tues. Feb. 18, 2025

The Memory Lane Global Mission team won the annual Burrell Boom to Riverside Tavern canoe race, “powered by Guinness”, outsprinting their rivals, the defending Ruta Maya champions, “Slim and Trim Like a Guava Limb”, by 46 seconds in Belize City on Sunday afternoon, February 16. Below are the lists of winners by category.

1st Overall – Memory Lane Global Mission (l to r – Christian Lopez, Amado Cruz, Carlos Linarez)

MALE: 1st Place – Memory Lane (Christian Lopez, Amado Cruz, Carlos Linares; 2:36:10); 2nd – Guava Limb (Andres Cabb, Daniel Cruz, Javier Guardado; 2:36:56); 3rd – Coast Guard (Wilberto Daniels, Daniel Gregorio; 2:40:30); 4th – Joseph & Taylor Steelers (Francis Codd, Chris Guydis, Kenrick Daniels; 2:46:00); 5th – Wave Warriors (Jeffery Seguro, Jesus Linares, Shane Young; 2:56:27).

MIXED: 1st Place – Lucas Oil UES (Clayton Cabb, Milenie Cabb, Enrique Cruz; 2:38:42); 2nd – Grumpy Old Folks (Helana Usher, Ninette Guerra, Jerry Wilken; 4:16:42).

FAMILY: 1st Place – Westrac (Ulises Lopez, Wayet Lopez, Biron Cruz; 2:42:33); 2nd – Koop Sheet Metal (Allen, Alfred, and Armando Lopez; 2:42:44); 3rd – Young Cutters (Elvis, Glenford and Criston Sutherland; 2:43:14); 4th – Table Rock (Dazlim and Mohamid McNabb, Alberto Soto; 2:45:15).

C-2: 1st Place – Exos Pool Supplies (Efrain Cruz, Jr., Efrain Cruz; 2:57:00); 2nd – UB Black Jaguars (Kean Gillett, Tyler Contreras; 3:00:52); 3rd – Flowers Imports (Jerry Cante, Darry Carrillo; 3:00:58).

MASTERS: 1st Place – Watt A Ting (Mike Searle, Leroy Romero, Johnny Searle; 3:02:57); 2nd – Bite Me 3.0 (Pernell Flowers, Cheryl Olson, Luis Marin; 3:07:29).

FEMALE: 1st Place – Coast Guard (Christie Guydis, Gianni Gome, Giselle Baeza; 3:05:08).

JUNIORS: 1st Place – Ladyville Old Road (Leon Lord, Jr., Tyler Wade, Dorian Mungula; 3:55:30).

This race was the last dress rehearsal before the annual Belikin Ruta Maya River Challenge race to be held from March 7-10.
