BELIZE CITY, Mon. Apr. 21, 2025

The defending champions, Yabra FC are leading with 2 wins in the Belize District Football Association (BDFA) Under-17 2024-2025 Closing Season tournament, which continued with 2 matches at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City on Thursday evening, April 17.

Belize United FC Under-17

In Game 1, defending champions Yabra FC dominated the Reality Youths, 3-1, led by Deon Broaster’s brace (30’ & 68’) and a goal from Esmond “Bagga” Sanker (32’). Only Tyler Gentle (56’) scored a consolation goal for Reality Youths.

In Game 2, Belize United held a football clinic for the Face of Belize in a 10-0 rout, keyed by Jacob Joseph’s hat trick (26’, 45’ & 70’). Antwan Latchman (10’) headed in the first goal on a service from Herwin Godoy, and Jonathan Quiroz scored a brace (14’ & 20’), to be followed by a brace from Juan Diego Dusssan (25’ & 47’). Midfielder Jahvyn Clarke (29’) drove in the 5th goal, Barack Morey blasted in the 8th goal, and Jerome Mortis came off the bench to deliver the 9th goal (69’) with an assist from Quiroz. Joseph completed his hat trick to seal the 10-0 rout.

In the opening game a week earlier on Thursday, April 10, the Reality Youths had held Belize United to a 2-2 draw, with Tyler Gentle (33’) and Dennis Nuñez (79’) giving Reality Youths a 2-1 lead, after Jacob Joseph (28’) had opened the scoreboard for Belize United. Barack Morey (83’) salvaged the 2-2 draw out of the jaws of defeat with the late equalizer.

In Game 2, Yabra FC got the easy bye to a (3-0) win when the Face of Belize could not muster a team to take the field.
