BELIZE CITY, Thurs. July 2, 2020– Belize City’s youngest City Councilor, Allan Pollard, Jr., has thrown his hat in the ring and emerged with an endorsement as the PUP standard bearer for the Queen’s Square constituency. This places Pollard in competition in the upcoming general elections with Denise “Sista B” Barrow, who has run the division for the past three elections according to her brother, Prime Minister Dean Barrow.
Councillor Pollard, at the young age of 25, said that he has no fear about going up against a competitor who is both older and more politically affiliated and experienced.
At his endorsement convention on Friday, June 26, which was attended by the Leader of the Opposition, Hon. John Briceño; Mayor Bernard Wagner; and other prominent party members such as National Deputy Leader of the PUP, Hon. Cordel Hyde, etc., Councilor Pollard pledged his service to the people of Queen’s Square, a division which he says has been familiar to him all his life.
Pollard is also the owner of Supreme Automotive Belize on Faber’s Road, and holds the portfolios of Traffic, Public Relations and Special Events in the City Council.
In March 2021, he will complete his first term as a City Councilor, and this is also his first attempt at a seat in local government.
