Traveling all the way from the Corozal District, a group of about 20 students from the Belize Adventist Junior College, led by their teacher Sharla White, visited the Kremandala compound this morning.
The sixth form students, majoring in Science and General Studies, visited with the Amandala newspaper, KREM FM and KREM TV.
Amandala reporters, Aaron Humes and Rowland Parks, shared with the students some of their experiences and challenges as journalists. KREM DJ, Steve Anthony, allowed the enthusiastic students a brief on-air chit chat. The students were hosted and escorted by Amandala Assistant Editor, Adele Ramos.
White shared with us that she uses Amandala’s editorials as material to teach her students about persuasive writing, and she felt it important that they include Amandala in their field trip.
Before coming to Partridge Street, the students visited the National Meteorological Service and the Philip Goldson International Airport in Ladyville, where they saw Belize’s new Doppler radar, regrettably still not in operation.
After their Kremandala tour, the students made off to fulfill appointments at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital and the House of Culture.
