BELIZE CITY, Mon. Nov. 11, 2019– The Belize District Primary School Volleyball Finals were held today, Monday, at the Stars Gym in Belize City, where the 4 top teams from Belize Rural, 2 females and 2 males, clashed with the top 4 teams from Belize City, 2 females and 2 males, in a simple knockout format. In the semifinals, the Belize City teams dominated their Belize Rural counterparts, setting up a repeat Belize City clash in the District finals, with the same results as in the Belize City finals last week.

In the Female (F) semifinals, Hummingbird Elementary defeated Lucky Strike Gov’t, 25-11, 27-25; and Belize Elementary def. Holy Cross Anglican (of San Pedro), 25-5, 25-6.

In the Male (M) semifinals, Holy Redeemer def. Holy Cross Anglican (of San Pedro), 25-5, 25-10; and Hummingbird Elementary def. Our Lady Of The Way RC (of Ladyville), 25-6, 25-6.

In the Female (F) championship match, Belize Elementary def. Hummingbird Elementary, 27-25, 25-20; and in the Male (M) championship match, Holy Redeemer def. Hummingbird Elementary, 25-22, 25-18.

Primary Volleyball Nationals on Friday

Belize District volleyball champions, Belize Elementary School females and Holy Redeemer School males will represent the Belize District at the National Primary School Volleyball Championships, to be held in Belize City this Friday, November 15.
