Belize Women Cricket Team to Costa Rica for international tournament

BELIZE CITY, Tues. Dec. 10, 2019– Fourteen ladies that form the National Women Cricket Team are leaving Belize on Thursday to play in the Mid-Season International Tour (Women) in Costa Rica. They are expected to play six games against three teams from Costa Rica. This is the first international outing for the Belize Women Cricket Team. The team is comprised of ladies from the Belize River Valley, and their average age is 30. Two Level One umpires are accompanying the team.

The tournament is supported by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Belize National Cricket Association (BNCA).

Belize is expected to host the Central American Championship for females next year, and the team is also expected to play in Atlanta, USA next May.

The team will return on Monday, December 16. We wish our ladies well.
