Belizean born Rakeem Nunez-Roches in Super Bowl LV

BELIZE CITY, Mon. Jan. 25, 2021– The USA’s biggest one-day sporting event, the 55th Super Bowl takes place next weekend, February 7, in Tampa, Florida; and Belizean born Rakeem Nunez-Roches will be among the players for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers led by legendary quarterback Tom Brady. They will face off with the defending champions, Kansas City Chiefs and their young quarterback phenom, Patrick Mahomes.

There are many Chiefs/Mahomes fans among Belizeans, but we will find it hard to ride against the Buccaneers because of Rakeem, whose Bio says he stands at 6’2″ 307 lbs; born on July 3, 1993 in Dangriga, Belize; attended University of Southern Mississippi; and was drafted in the 6th round in 2015 by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Rakeem, who had left Belize for the US at the age of 8, was later traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2017; and so, wearing #56, Rakeem will now square off against his old team in Super Bowl LV.
