The Bishop’s Cup Football Tournament 2024 ended at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan on Friday, May 24, with San Pedro RC becoming back-to-back champions.

The mini-tournament is an annual event hosted by the National Catholic Primary Schools Principals Association of Belize, featuring football matches with all of the catholic primary schools countrywide playing against each other within their various districts, with the winner advancing to the national tournament.

“What you are witnessing today is one of the most important and dynamic events of the year, which is the Bishop’s Cup Tournament,” Abel Mai, President of the Catholic Primary School Association told Amandala. “Today has been excellent, and we continue to do all the very best with the assistance of the community. Again, today has been extraordinary; we want to continue for next year where we will see greater things for our children,” he added.

Below are the winners:

Boys winners: 1st Place – San Pedro RC (San Pedro); 2nd Place – Santa Elena RC (Santa Elena, Cayo District); 3rd Place – San Pedro Columbia (Toledo District).

Girls winners: 1st Place – Santa Elena RC (Santa Elena, Cayo District); 2nd Place – Our Lady of Lourdes RC (Maskall, Belize District); 3rd Place – Guinea Grass RC (Orange Walk District).
