St. George’s Caye, Belize, Wed. Sept. 15, 2021– Around 2:00 p.m. yesterday, the police received reports that what appeared to be a body was floating in the sea in the vicinity of St. George’s Caye and Coffee Caye.

Police officers alongside members of the Belize Coast Guard quickly mobilized and began a search operation in the area. It was not until 5:00 p.m. yesterday that the joint forces discovered the body of a male person floating in the sea. Upon inspecting the body, the lawmen noticed marks resembling chop wounds on the deceased man’s head and right hand.

Police have since received information that might indicate the identity of the dead man. However, they are still awaiting confirmation from the victim’s family before revealing his identity.
